The best way to reach us is by email: DecodedCars. We read every message, and reports from readers are one of the main ways we keep the data right.

Reporting a wrong figure

Our data comes from the EPA, NHTSA and Transport Canada, and matching those sources is automated, so a model can occasionally be grouped or split differently from how the manufacturer does it. If something doesn't match what you found, please tell us. It helps a lot if you include:

  • the address (URL) of the page,
  • what the page says and what you found instead,
  • a link to an official source, if you have one.

We check every report against the official source before changing anything. If a figure was wrong, we fix the calculation so it's corrected on every page, not just one.

Recalls on your car

We can't look up your car's VIN or help with repairs. To see whether it has an open recall, check nhtsa.gov/recalls or call a dealer for the brand. Please don't send us your full VIN or personal details.

Suggestions and advertising

We reply in English or Spanish, usually within a few working days. We can't give personal buying or financing advice, but we do read every suggestion about what to compare or which data to add.

Ideas for new tools or comparisons are welcome. DecodedCars is supported by ads that are labeled as such; we never accept payment to change data, ratings or how any model is placed. See how everything is calculated in our Methodology.
